Liang Wu, of the University of California at Berkeley, will be awarded the 2017 Michelson Postdoctoral Prize for his groundbreaking experimental studies of topological materials.  Wu will be in residence this week (Sept. 11–15) and will give a public lecture and three technical seminars.

Congratulations to two physics and mathematics juniors in the 2017 Goldwater Scholarship competition: Â Benjamin Kuznets-Speck was one of 240 undergraduates across the country awarded a scholarship, and Nathaniel Starkman won an honorable mention. Â The scholarships are granted based on merit to students in natural sciences, mathematics and engineering.
