SPT-3G+ is the next-generation survey receiver being developed for the 10-meter South Pole Telescope (SPT) at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. The South Pole is one of the premier sites on Earth for CMB observations, owing to its extremely low precipitable water vapor, high altitude, and stable atmosphere. The SPT-3G+ receiver will house >20,000 transition-edge sensor (TES) detectors cooled to 100 mK to observe in frequency bands centered at 90 GHz and 150 GHz.  The optical design features 14 individual optics tubes housed in a shared cryostat for a combined 4 degree diameter field of view. The SPT-3G+ receiver will  be used to create unprecedentedly deep CMB lensing maps, discover new galaxy clusters, and detect astrophysical transients. The lensing map produced by SPT-3G+ combined with data from the neighboring BICEP telescopes to “delens” (remove) foreground CMB polarization, with the goal of revealing signals from inflation in the early Universe.
