Dr. Jose Leo BaƱuelos, a professor at the University of Texas, El Paso. Dr. BaƱuelos received his B.S. and Ph.D. from New Mexico State University, before completing a post-doc in the Chemical Sciences Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. At UTEP, his group, the NICE2 Lab (Nanomaterials, Interfaces, and Confinement for Energy & the Environment Laboratory), uses x-ray and neutron scattering structural and spectroscopic techniques to study surface and nanoconfinement effects on the molecular-scale properties of complex fluids and soft matter systems. He will share his journey through higher education as a Latino man and answer audience questions regarding his research and experiences.
The meeting will be held at 4:30 pm via Zoom (ID: 92702108564, Passcode: 420359).
