Our friend and colleague Philip Taylor, Distinguished University Professor and Perkins Professor of Physics, celebrated his 80th birthday this academic year.
To mark the occasion and celebrate his career we are organizing a day long symposium on March 29, 2018 featuring lectures by colleagues, past and present. Their topics, ranging from climate change to cosmology and entropy to evolution, reflect the breadth of Phil’s interests and friendships.
Confirmed speakers include Michael Fisher (Maryland), Olle Heinonen (Argonne National Lab), Michael Hinczewski (CWRU), Michael Mann (Penn State), Harsh Mathur (CWRU), Alexander Vilenkin (Tufts) and Gordon Walker (University of British Columbia). Many of Phil’s past students and postdocs are also expected to participate.
The symposium was held in Dively Hall 202 on the campus of Case Western Reserve University from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018. Here is the schedule, which includes links to recordings where available.
